Audio blog on just talk.

Did you know you could create your own blog on the just talk app? Audio blogs to be precise. We'll love to hear about your day. No one would be watching so feel free to say whatever you want at anytime. We'll just be listening so there's no need to be shy as there are no videos involed. I have uploaded a sample on the timeline, so that should give a broad idea of the things that could be uploaded. If you can say it, it can be posted on the just talk app. You just have to make sure its at most 3 minutes long. If its offensive or if people don't like it and they vote "dislike" then the post will be deleted after 24 hours. So please be nice.

What's just talk (description with latest feature)

Just Talk is a social media platform for voice notes only. It allows people share voice notes privately and publicly.
You can send messages privately to your contacts on the app and each message sent and received can be listened to as many times as possible withing 2 days. After which the message will be automatically deleted. The message will be automatically deleted after 2 days regardless of whether the recipient has listened to the message or not.
If you do not like how you sound after playing back a recorded message you can easily change how you sound by using any of the included voice filters in the app. There are currently 9 voice filters included in the app.

You can send messages publicly even if you have no "just talk" contacts. This messages are called casts or post and they go on your timeline for everyone with a just talk account to listen. you can also use voice filters with them. To attract more listeners you can give it a short text title. These posts can be re-posted by anyone. They can also make comments on the things you say by publicly replying your posts (audio only). in addition to re-posting and replying your posts, users can also like and dislike your posts with your posts getting deleted after 24 hours if it has 70%+ more dislikes than likes.

You will fully enjoy the just talk app if you invite your friends to join the party and search for more on the app. You can also search for the specific casts you want on the timeline.

Just talk is currently available for free on the google play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.something.ganik.justtalk

No one is watching, Just Talk

We would like everyone to be able to freely express themselves on just talk. Sometimes you may feel its awkward just speaking to your phone and you feel like you're in front of the people who may be listening. You then begin to feel shy and you stop recording. There's not a video recording app or YouTube, so you can actually get on with it. No one is watching you everyone would be listening instead. so just take your phone, open the just talk app and begin recording.

don't forget to download the app for free on the play store: https://play.google.com/apps/publish/?account=8159777832692878572#AppDashboardPlace:p=com.something.ganik.justtalk&appid=4972176059881047548

A Social Network for Voice Notes (voice memo) only

Over time the means of communication has evolved. Many new means have been created. Some of which includes Video call, face to face conversation, letter writing, Phone call, Text messaging, conference call, picture sharing and Voice notes. Most of the new means of communication have been through online platform for social networking. Facebook has pictures, texts and videos, Instagram mainly focuses on pictures and videos, WeChat basically has everything and more. Then we have twitter which is purely text, with the later inclusion of videos and pictures. All of these platforms also have a direct messenger imbedded in them that allow users to send Texts, pictures, videos, Gifs, voice memos and emojis. WhatsApp's and BBM's main focus is on text direct messaging. If you take a look at all of the trends in most social network, you'll discover that most of them place emphasis on text, videos and pictures. Every other feature is an added on feature. None of them have placed major emphasis on voice messaging even tho quite a number of people enjoy sending voice notes. Although proportion of voice memos compared to text messages in most messaging app are small, we have found a large proportion with WeChat. The western world and other part of the world might be texting but WeChat which is based in china understand the benefits of voice messaging. It's faster, it retains intimacy in conversations and most of all its just easier than texting considering that typing in Chinese is not as straight forward as typing in English. 13% of the messages sent by youths are Voice messages, 16% of messages sent by any typical user are voice messages with the highest proportion coming from senior users at 22% (Statista, 2018)

The importance of voice messages over other forms of communication are many and interesting. With  phone call, whoever you're trying to reach has to be ready and available to not only listen to you but speak back to you. With Text messages, The issues are even greater, not everyone can read and write, it just takes to much time, it's easy to lie over texts, your texts can easily be misread as written words tend to have more than one interpretation, intimacy is barely present. Think about those "LOL(s)" you've written with a straight face, that should help you understand where I'm heading. Video call has similarities with phone calls, but imagine what a weak internet signal would do to that skype call with family. To many, people video calls are not something you do every time. Voice notes can make your day to day means of communication easier, you can synch schedules together and retain intimacy. It's faster and easier. For these reasons Just Talk has been created.

The uses of Just Talk extends further from Just an audio messaging app to a new age social media platform with emphasis on our voices. That is something no one has done before. This is the first time we have a platform that focuses on voice notes only. Its is a social media/networking platform for Voice notes only where all of your posts are limited to voice notes only. You have maximum of 3 minutes to express yourself in a public post or in a direct message. Not everyone likes how they sound so we included voice filters that help users change how they sound. You can monitor the number of times your uploads have been played. All private direct messages are automatically deleted after 24 hours regardless of weather you've opened them or not. A history of all your messages will remain but the messages will be long gone.

We should remember that nothing like this has ever existed before and the uses are immense. Imagine you loved sending voice notes and loved receiving them but it' not the same for your friends, every time you send them a voice note on WhatsApp or whatever media app, you always got a text back. on just talk you'll be 100 percent assured that every message you sent or received will be a voice memo (voice note) because on this app, there is not texting involved. It's 100% voice notes only. You don't Text, you just talk. If you were a motivational speaker, a pastor, a comedian, an actor or anybody, regardless of whether you have fans or followers and you want to share something important or fun. Before your options where limited to videos, pictures and texts if you had to do it on social media.  for videos you have to be well dressed probably, put your videos face on, shoot then upload, for texting you had to type the message which takes time and after you upload it, you'd have to start hoping no one has misinterpreted what you wrote. picture has similar problems with videos and texts but with voice notes it's a different ball game. In many occasions the most interest post of the day comes up right as you wake up in the morning. No need for all the charades with voice notes all you have to do is push and start recording. You don't even have to get out of bed to do that. in the future Just Talk will be integrated with your smart speakers (Siri, google voice, bixbi and so on) so you don't even have to turn on your phone if you don't want to. all you have to do is say a couple of commands and you'll be ready to go. These are only a few of many way Just Talk can change the way we do things.

So why don't you start giving Just Talk a go. Be one of the first star to be popular on this. Just as long as you remember you don't have to text, Just Talk.

Know your app, (part 13). one month birthday on the app store

On the 26th of jaruary 2017 was when the first version of "Just Talk" was available on the appstore. An app idea that first saw light over a year ago. From inception, till date the idea of the app has changed/improved for the good. so much thought has been put into it.

I thought of a way of introducing something new into the messagin sector of the app world. Couldn't introduce an app that did the same thing every other app did. It would have been too mainstream if I created a text messaging app. The whole world already does that and besides, its not very innovative. I needed to make a mark and create something no one has ever thought of and thats why we have "Just Talk - DTJT today. Yes it might be a hussle to excecute it as I had no skills in coding but, I had to excecute the plan anyways because it sounded like a damn good idea! Pictures where taken with ideas like instagram, snapchat and faceook, Texts where taken with the likes of imessage and whatsapp and it was possible to send voice notes in almost all of the apps, but then i noticed that none was bespoke for voice messages only and besides there are some things that we just can't type or be bothered to type. there are times you want to pass a message accross quickly with a phone call but you just can't because the other user cannot use their phone at the moment. Voice mail does cost a bit sometimes and you don't always love how you sound when you hear the voice mail play back. Sometimes you start typing a chat/text to a friends but then it becomes so long to read. Or perhaps you're dyslexic and can't read texts everytime. The issues go on and on. I decided to create a solution to that. Some people may argue that other apps already send voice notes and I agree but none of them are made for sending voice notes. Voice Notes are more of an addon, whereas Just Talk is made for seding voice notes and to make things better and more interesting, you can change how you sound. Voice filters from sounding like an object to sounding like someone or something you love dearly, to add to that, its fun! I Didn't stop there still. How about making it more fun? I asked myself. Give users many access to their messages but limit their acess against time. So users may be able to listen to their messages as many times as they please but only within 24 hours. After 24 hours all would be deleted. I also found a way to increase the fun level of the app. messages would also delete even if you do not open the messagges. all receivers have 24 hours to open and listen to a message or it would be deleted. It is also easy to spot those who have not opened your messages after 24 hours. In future you would see things similar to story in other apps, but mine shall be called "pods" rather than sharing a story like other apps, you share pods in mine (they will be voice messages only). This feature is to come in the next few weeks.

So now you know alittle bit of history about me and more about the app. I would take this time to say "Happy Sunday" to you all and thank you for reading. Do something nice to celebrate my first month on the app store if you can. #nopressure

Here are some throwback pictures (one year ago). After drawing the screens of the app with a pencil on a peice of paper, I drew it on a PC with paint. I hope you enjoy viewing them.

Knowing your app (part 12) : News. got some interesting pics for you

Hello wonderful blog readers, back at it again. In my last post I indicated that there was going to be a new update coming sooner than expected. Well, i'm back again on it to let you know for sure that this update would surly be ariving sooner than I expected the last time (can't wait can i?). got some pictures about the new update i'll love to share. I would love you to do abit of guess work if you can. feel free to comment if you can. Plus I had a rethink about the link for new readers who do not know what the app is about so I thought it would be nice to put it at the bottom of the post for this one. But first here are some tease pics for the new update.

Feel free to do the guess work. Now for you new new users readers, what is Just Talk - DTJT about? It is a messaging app but this time for voice messages only and it allows users to use voice filters to change how they sound. You can listen to your messages as many times as you want but after 24 hours they would be deleted. This is regardless of whether you've opened them or not. I've you fail to open the messages withing 24 hours a smiley would be there to let you know you've not been very responsive to a friend. :D . don't text, just talk. keep talking people.
